Do you know if you can help me out?

Does anyone know if missing more than 2 or 3 birth control pills can cause you to miss your period by the time you get to your "sugar pills"? I just went yesterday for a blood test to see if I'm pregnant since me & my husband had while I was not steadily taking the pills.
