Single and pregnant, how do i get BD to talk about a birth plan?

I do care about the father of my child. However, we broke up and I don't EVER plan on going back to him. Two weeks ago, we got into a domestic disput where he was shoving me in the stomach and dragging me around the apartment by my hair. We went to court the other day, and he told me he was excited about our baby and that he was sorry. (I don't trust him even though he said he was sorry, but I'd like to believe that he still wants to be here for his child.) For the last three days, I have tried getting ahold of him so we could talk about a birth plan and what we want to do TOGETHER for our child. He hasn't responded and I told him that I understand it might be too soon, but at least tell me if its too soon. I still haven't heard anything. I was just wondering how I could force him to talk without being forceful. (If that makes sense. lol.)
