How effective are these comparisons?

pretty, pretty effective. i like the third one a lot, idont see how "a whole summer embalmed" in our arms is a comparision, neither " It put wings on my heels and gave me the motions of mercury" its not a comparision its a metaphor, i think( i dont know if its the same in english and in french. i dont really get your question thougt lol, but it was fun to read :)
