Whats the buzz around j dilla?

now i really dont see what makes dilla so great hes not bad but i dont see him as anything more than descent. my favorite producers are 9th wonder, dj premier, MF DOOM, madlib, alchemist, rza, dan the automator, just blaze but i dont see the big deal about dilla. i havent heard alot of his work because he really hasnt grabbed me (except wont do and starz but i think madlib might have produced stars) but ive seen some top dilla beats lists and for the most part all his beats seam really basic which isnt necessarily a bad thing. im not hating on dilla im genuinely looking to be enlightened please post some of your favorite dilla beats or explain what made him so great thx
